Heavy Duty Ceiling System - Heavy Duty System

Lexington Heavy Duty ceiling system is manufacture to eliminate traditional labor-intensive cutting, ramsets and improper spacing of “main runner” and “channel furring”. Our heavy duty ceiling system is manufacture to meet or exceed ASTM standards and code requirements, and is more economical to install compared to conventional system like stud and “L” angle. In additional, the ceiling system suitable for fire rated and non-fire rated usage.

Installation / Architectural Specifications
Installation work can begin when the building is closed in. Wet works such as concrete and plaster should be dry.

Fixing of Runners and Channels
Space main runners at 1200mm on center with hanger and threaded rod attached to structure above. The spacing of the hanger should be 1200mm apart (max) along the main runner. A clip is used to interlock secondary channels (space 600mm on center) to the main runners. Prior to the hanging of ceiling board, the leveling of the suspension system is done by adjusting the threaded rod.

Fixing of Ceiling Boards
The ceiling board is fixed with self-drilling screws at 600mm on center along each secondary channels. The screw heads should be finished 2mm into the face of ceiling board. A gap of 5mm is left between the boards. It is taped and flushed smooth with jointing compound.
